Our Tax Agent Certification is designed for accounting professionals seeking to advance their career and work towards Tax Agent registration. The course provides practical, industry-relevant knowledge in Tax Law and Commercial Law.

Combined with a completed Diploma of Accounting (or higher qualification) and relevant experience requirements, the course satisfies the education requirements set by the Tax Practitioners Board for Tax Agent registration.

The Tax Agent Certification includes the skills and knowledge required to meet the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) educational eligibility requirements, for both Commercial Law and Australian Tax Law.

    Course Duration

    Students have 12 months access to the course and learning portal to complete the 5 units of competency. Course can be completed sooner.

    Students requiring additional time to complete the course can apply to have their course extended - Fees may apply.

    Entry Requirements

    A Diploma of Accounting is the minimum requirement to obtain your Tax Agent Licence as per the Tax Practitioner Board. Speak to our Course Advisors to see what your individual requirements are.

    Assessments

    Assessments include, written question and answer, independant research, practical case studies and projects, role-plays to demonstrate real-work scenarios.

    The Tax Practitioner Board (TPB) requires 40% of the course assessments to be completed under supervision. Our team will support you to complete these via our online supervised sessions.

    This course is designed as an additional option for those accountants who wish to work as registered tax agents. A registered tax agent is licensed to prepare and lodge tax return on behalf of individuals or small/medium businesses to ensure tax obligations are met and returns are as large as possible! Tax agents have to comply with strict laws and be meticulous with attention to detail.
